CBI Center and Building Infrastructure Engineering

CBI

In the construction industry innovations and their implementation are often time-consuming processes . Especially in constructive engineering and transport infrastructure engineering, old techniques are commonly used.
Together with the industry, the Center Building and Infrastructure Engineering (CBI) as part of cluster construction at the RWTH Aachen Campus wants to exploit trends and implement innovations as well as transfers of technology faster and more efficient. Furthermore, the building industry subjects to the public law: Standardization and approval processes inhibit the transfer from research facility to construction site. The CBI stands for a faster transfer to regulations and approvals.

CCR Center Construction Robotics

Breaking digital boundaries together: The Center Construction Robotics as part of cluster construction at the RWTH Aachen Campus is closing the digital gaps in the construction industry from planning through production to implementation. An interdisciplinary, international consortium of companies and faculty spanning institutes of RWTH Aachen University are developing and designing intelligent processes, machines and business models along the entire construction value chain.
We jointly research and develop key technologies in hardware, software and process design. Beyond the indirect planning processes, we aim to address, rethink and redesign the entire construction site. The knowledge gained in this way serves as a catalyst for the digitalization and automation of the construction site of the future. By implementing key technologies, the Center Construction Robotics aids its consortium in becoming the leaders of the digital disruption in construction.

CWE Center for Wind and Earthquake Engineering

The Center for Wind and Earthquake Engineering combines and manages interdisciplinary teaching and research activities relating to wind and earthquake engineering at RWTH Aachen University. The CWE has excellent long-standing expertise in the field of structural dynamics through its participating institutes. It has access to extensive and highly-specialised experimental facilities.
