High-strength Steel Towers for Wind Turbines
Short description
The main objective of this project is to assure that the next generation of steel towers used to support wind turbines produced in Europe is a highly competitive product on the global market.
With constantly increasing demand for wind turbines driven by the need to use renewable energy sources, cost optimization of the steel tower becomes important and commercially justified. The aim of this project is to give an integrated view on the steel tower optimizing the performance of the whole structure rather than critical details separately. Optimization of the tower geometry and innovative solutions for assembly joints are planed to remedy existing limits.
